Welcome to Summitville Elementary School,
Proud home of the Goblins!
Let me be the first to welcome you to our school family. I am Wendy Barr, the principal of Summitville Elementary. Our school is located in the rural, small town of Summitville, Indiana. We welcome approximately 260 students in full-day Kindergarten through the 6th grade everyday. Summitville Elementary is fortunate to have a talented teaching and support staff. Our goal daily is to provide our students with a positive educational environment. We provide additional student support and growth opportunities through our Title 1 Reading, Bridges Brain Lab, Special Education, and High Ability programs. Summitville Elementary students participate in art, music, 6th grade band, and physical education, which recently installed a new rock-climbing wall! Our students have many extracurricular activities they can be a part of, too. Show Choir, Student Council, and The Great Green Garden Club are just a few of our more popular choices. Currently under construction is our Outdoor Classroom and Garden funded by a Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant in 2008. We would not be as successful, without the support of our community and an active PTO. Some of the bigger events that PTO sponsors are the Carnival, Auction, Donkey Basketball game, and a 5K Walk/Run. Again, welcome to Summitville Elementary.
